Writing As A Spiritual Path: The Poetic Art of Integrationwith Kyle Sutherland

Poetry is a uniquely psychedelic experience. No other literary form so completely asks us to suspend our rational judgements and deepen into that wordless place where words can point but cannot touch. The world of metaphor is one in which our deepest human qualities reveal themselves, often in quite startling ways, and our shared synesthetic experience comes to light.

Kyle will introduce the topic of poetry for psychedelic integration and then lead us through a guided writing workshop, which will open up into an open mic sharing circle!

📖 Please bring a pen & journal/paper for writing

🙏 Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early for parking, so the group can start on time!

Kyle Sutherland is a nationally recognized poet and emcee. A member of several Denver slam teams over the years, Kyle has performed his poetry on HBO, hosted countless open mic, writing workshops and slam events and is the former president of the Hip Hop Congress in Denver, as well as the co-founder of Project More Than Metaphors – an initiative using poetry to supply humanitarian aide to Syrian refugee camps.
